GLASS. STRUCTURES. SENTIMENTS.

A stream of light pours through the window and disperses, refracting through the facets of a crystal glass. Multicolored reflections form as the beams multiply and overlap, scattering across the entire room. Water has spilled from the glass, slowly penetrating the grain of the wood. Seeping through its successive layers, it causes them to swell. The signs of damage are covered with a lace doily, carefully crafted by my great-grandmother years ago.

GLASS mediates between water and light – the sources of our life. It is cold, firm, and uncompromising, yet remarkably delicate and fragile. One careless move and it shatters, breaking into a thousand pieces.

STRUCTURE introduces order and context. It provides shape and direction, creating a specific story. Whether geometric or organic, it has its own character and consistently adheres to it. Slender glass, a sharp cut, and precise relief – each surface captivates with its own unique texture. They can interpenetrate or contrast with one another.

SENTIMENT is an attempt to hold onto what time continuously takes away. It protects the memories we want to return to and preserve in our minds forever. 

The exhibition "GLASS. STRUCTURES. SENTIMENTS." is the story of a family united by a passion for art and artistic craftsmanship. The artists invite the viewer into their own home, filled with both memories and the firm decisions that shape everyday life.

Amelia Kosma Pietkiewicz

ELŻBIETA TRZEWICZEK-PIETKIEWICZ

Graduated from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (now the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design), 2001. In 2003, she completed Postgraduate Studies in Stage Space Design at the Faculty of Interior Architecture and Design (now Faculty of Interior Architecture, Design and Stage Design) at the same institution.
From 2008 to 2020, she taught vocational subjects within the Glass Technology programme in 
Centrum Kształcenia Zawodowego i Ustawicznego (the Center for Vocational and Continuing Education) in Sosnowiec.
Since 2014, she has been designing glass and conducting workshops at the “Julia” Crystal Glassworks in Piechowice. 
She also collaborates with the informal group “NASTROJE”, organising numerous workshops centered on glass, stained glass, ceramics and upcycling.
Recipient of “must have” distinction at the Łódź Design Festival for the “Blanca” collection, 2017, and for “Kryształowe pojemniki z bukowym deklem” (“Crystal containers with a beechwood lid”), 2020.
She participated in two solo exhibitions and more than a dozen group exhibitions in Poland, France, Romania and Finland.
Her works are held in the collections of the National Museum in Wrocław and the Schoen Palace Museum in Sosnowiec.

SEBASTIAN PIETKIEWICZ

Graduated from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (now named after E. Geppert), 2001. In 2003, he completed Postgraduate Studies in Stage Space Design at the Faculty of Interior Architecture and Design (now Faculty of Interior Architecture, Design and Stage Design) at the same institution. 
Following his studies, he worked as a designer at several prominent glassworks: “Sudety” Crystal Glassworks in Szczytna (2003–2005), “Ząbkowice” Household Glassworks in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2005–2006), “Julia” Crystal Glassworks in Piechowice (2006–2007), and “Zawiercie” Household Glassworks in Zawiercie (2012–2013). 
From 2013 to August 2026, he served as chief designer at “Julia” Crystal Glassworks in Piechowice. He has collaborated with Edwanex Glassworks since 2018.
In cooperation with Leroy Merlin and the Institute of Industrial Design, he designed modular flower pots as part of the “Dobrze Zaprojektowane” (Well Designed) campaign, 2011. Recipient of “must have” distinctions at the Łódź Design Festival for the “Metropolis” collection and “Zestaw Śniadaniowy nr 1”, part of the “Polski Stół” project, 2016, the “Blanca” collection and “Łatki” wine glasses, 2017, as well as the “Szklanka jak kubek” design, 2020.
He participated in three solo exhibitions (including “Kultowe formy”, Galeria BB, Kraków, 2016) and in more than 20 group exhibitions in Poland, the Czech Republic, France, South Korea, Romania, Germany, Finland and the USA.
His works are held in the collections of the National Museum in Krakow, the National Museum in Wrocław, and the Schoen Palace Museum in Sosnowiec.
He practices alpine skiing, ski mountaineering, rock climbing and mountaineering.
Since January 2026, he has been a member of the board of the Sudecki Klub Wysokogórski and an alpine skiing instructor with SITN PZN (Association of Ski Instructors and Coaches of the Polish Ski Federation).

AMELIA KOSMA PIETKIEWICZ 

A fourth-year student at the Faculty of Sculpture and Art Mediation of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and a first-year student at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Wrocław. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions and artistic projects, including festivals, fairs, and competitions. 
In 2024, she won first place for her sculpture Źródło in the "Super Forma – Studencka Rzeźba Roku" competition organized by the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław.
She creates sculptures, functional forms, and intermedia works. In her creative process, she is guided primarily by intuition, exploring themes of nostalgia and transience. 
She is deeply fascinated by various casting techniques and draws significant inspiration from organic forms found in nature. 
Outside of her art, she is a passionate rock climber.
