ul. Jatki 3-6, Wrocław – 15.05.2016 – 5.06.2016 – opening of the exhibition: 14.05.2016, 5 pm
Monika Rubaniuk and Jerzy Zajączkowski have been married for 13 years. Both are artists who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (now the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław).
Rubaniuk studied at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass and the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture; Zajączkowski continued his studies at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts, completed by a diploma, at the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in the studio of the eminent artist Sean Scully.
And although Rubaniuk and Zajaczkowski studied at the same time in the current Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, they really "fell" for and remained with each other to this day (they declare" to the end of their lives") at a party organized by their mutual friend. He believed that a MELANGE of the personalities, interests, and talents of his friends could produce staggering results. And so it also happened: Rubaniuk and Zajaczkowski have been living together in a symbiotic relationship for 14 years. Together they run the household, bring up two daughters, and spend their holidays. They work together and separately. Jurek helps Monika in running the glass workshop – he carries glass forms sometimes weighing several dozen kg (!). Monika is the first viewer and critic of paintings and objects created by Jurek.
Monika Rubaniuk and Jerzy Zajączkowski are invited to participate in exhibitions and art projects in Poland and abroad: Monika presents objects made of glass, Jurek – painting.
"Melanż / Melange" is their first joint exhibit.
We invite you on the Night of Museums to Galeria BB on Wrocław's Jatki to the exhibition of two artists who have created a successful melange in life and art.
