GESTURES

We gesture to reinforce the meaning of our words, to express emotion, or to point to an object or person. Gestures should draw attention not to themselves, but to the matter under discussion or the given object.

When passing a plate, do we pay attention to the hands in which it is placed? To the gestures that accompany this activity?

We notice the shape, colour, and texture of the plate but can no longer reproduce the gestures of the hand which held it.

What if these gestures were enclosed in a glass plate? To permanently "record" in it the shape of our hand? The gestures she made in the seemingly trivial act of passing the plate?

Gestures have enormous power. Are there openness and readiness in your gestures to reach out to a Stranger?
