Olga Milczyńska and Irina Grishina met at the Poznań School of Form. Olga was a lecturer; Irina came to study design from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, 8000 km away...  A passion for ceramics, a similar sensitivity and attention to observation of people and their surroundings, meant that the “teacher” and her student opened a joint studio in 2016. They called it “August”, because it was in August that they started talking about cooperating, and their favourite photographer is August Sander...

Irina Grishina and Olga Milczyńska design and produce ceramics, as well as engaging in photography. Their aim is to create beautiful and modern objects, useful in everyday life. They use traditional techniques, and support the vanishing art of pottery. 

Grishina and Milczyńska are surrounded by an aura of calm and gentleness, perhaps resulting from their inner concentration. This calmness and gentleness can be found in the vessels they design and manufacture. Used, handed from hand to hand, they build/strengthen our relationships while cooking and eating together.
